Surgeon said just doing the local anesthetic would be better as it results in a quicker recovery than when you're put all the way under.

Sounded good to me, last time I was put under it was brutal coming out.

What he didn't mention was that during the surgery I'd be aware of everything that was happening.

Nothing like hearing them work the hammer and chisel as they were cracking the bones on either side of my nose.  Whole body would vibrate with each hit.

Worst part was when they used the pliers to grab onto the loosened bone and the cracking sounds as they wiggled it back and forth to pry free.

Still get shivers when I think about.
